Matt Ottewill

Matt Ottewill

Matt has been in education and digital media for over 25 years. He splits his time between his family, keeping up to date with digital media technologies, and his teaching work. Education is his passion, and his research helps him ensure our sessions are relevant.

In addition to The Pixel Gang, he maintains and develops two free learning sites for older learners, Planet Of Tunes, and Project Studio Handbook.

Matt has written City & Guilds level 3 and 4 diploma and apprenticeship qualifications in Digital Marketing, Multimedia, Music Technology, and Sound Engineering, and held many roles including head of learning, qualification writer and reviewer, course leader, and senior lecturer, at a wide variety of organisations including Livity, Rose Bruford College, Kingston University, City & Guilds, University Of Greenwich, Royal College Of Music, The Institute of Music & Technology, Agilisys Arch and Lambeth College.

Lucy Stirling

Lucy Stirling

Lucy has had a varied career working in school admin, advertising, fashion retail, and social media marketing. With two children at primary school and one at secondary, she has a special affinity with the needs and concerns of parents, and having raised a child with AS, a wide knowledge of the needs of children on the spectrum.

Lucy is a highly experienced and qualified administrator, and a marketing expert. Following a career in advertising she became a mother, and spent four years as joint leader of the PTA at Keston CE primary school where she was central in their successful events and fund raising activities. Lucy splits her time between working at The Pixel Gang and at St George's primary school in Bromley.

Finn Ottewill

Finn Ottewill

Finn has been helping at our taster sessions and activities from the beginning. He helps with the younger students and is especially good looking after our new parents, answering their questions and ensuring they are welcome.

Finn is in year 11 at Bishop Justus school in Bromley where his favourite subjects are design technology, maths and chemistry. He is also teaching himself to play the guitar and is already showing a gift for the instrument with his delicate touch and accurate playing.

Isis Ottewill

Isis Ottewill

Like Finn, Isis has been part of our team from the start. She is both creative, and highly academic, with art, drama and English among her favourite subjects at school. Isis helps out at our taster sessions and tests all our game making lessons before they are taught to our students. She has a keen eye for detail and always identifies problems that need correcting that others have missed.

Like her brother Finn, she also attends Bishop Justus in Bromley, and is in year 9, where her diligence, maturity and work effort have been recognised on multiple occasions by her teachers.

Quality, fairness and safety

The Pixel Gang has training, policies, and review processes to ensure safety and fairness. We have Safeguarding, Paediatric first aid, and Paediatric Anaphylaxis certificates, and enhanced DBS (CRB) checks.

All our Policies and Certificates are here.
