Create a chase - bee sting

In this lesson you will make a game in which a bee chases a cat.

 

NOTE: You must use Scratch 3 or higher.

 

Complete these steps ..

 

1. Open Scratch, OR create a new game (from the top menu choose "File>New").

 

 

2. Select the cat sprite under the stage and re-name it Cat.

 

 

Now add this code to allow the player to end the game with the E key on their keyboard.

Also, add the code to set the Cat sprite size and starting position (go to x: y:) on the stage ..

 

Now add the code to allow the player to move the Cat with the mouse-pointer ..

 

Press the B key on your keyboard to test your code.

When you are ready, press the E key to end your game and continue working on it.

 

 

3. Click on the Paint new sprite button under the stage and paint a bee ..

 

When the paint window opens, click this button ..

 

Use the paint brush and eraser tools to paint a bee like this.

NOTE: Make sure the bee is facing right.

 

 

4. Under the stage re-name your Bee sprite Bee.

 

 

5. Select the Bee sprite and add this code ..

 

Press the B key on your keyboard to test your code.

When you are ready, press the E key to end your game and continue working on it.

 

 

6. Use the File > Save to your computer to save your game. Name it Bee chase v1.sb3

 

 

7. Well done, you've finished! What happens if you change the move 4 steps script on the bee to move 8 steps?
