Scratch game making tutorial 65

Archer

In this tutorial you will make a game in which an archer must hit a moving target.

1. Create a new Scratch game .. File>New

2. Delete the Cat sprite.

3. Select the stage and create a new variable "For all sprites" called "countdown". We will use this to create a clock that counts down to zero. The player must hit as many targets as they can before the countdown ends.

Now add these scripts to the stage ..

4. Save your game, call it something like "Archer".

5. Save this target image to your computers hard drive (right-click), and then use the "Choose new sprite from file" button under the stage to import it. Re-name it "Target".

6. Click on the Target's costume tab, copy the costume, and then edit the copy so it is completely red ..

Name the costumes "target" and "hit". When the target is hit by the archers arrow, we will make it turn red for a moment.

Now add these scripts to the target to make it appear at a radon time and place before disappearing again..

7. Save your game.

8. Save this Archer images to your computers hard drive, and then use the "Choose new sprite from file" button under the stage to import it. Re-name the sprite "archer" ..

Now click on Archer's costume tab and import this second image.

Name them like this ..

9. Add these scripts to the Archer ..

10. Now paint a new arrow ..

Name the sprite arrow and add these scripts to it ..

11. Save your game.

12. You're finished. Well done. Press "B" to start the game. Press "E" to end.

13. What modifications can you make?
