Children love to play computer video games, but parents know how distracting and addictive they can be. This code club harnesses your child's enthusiasm and creativity and encourages the development of coding, programming, analytical, logic and maths skills.

Club content

Gov.UK logoOur courses cover attainment targets from the new National Computing Curriculum.

This club is run at weekends, half-term and school holidays, and as an after school club at selected schools in Bromley.

Students learn concepts and skills in video games design including coding, interactive animation, character and object control, and programming concepts such as event handlers, control statements, loops, properties and functions.

Club content is tailored to challenge and improve each learner's existing skills and knowledge. Learners are continually assessed to establish the level they are working at and to stretch them.

CertificateAccreditation & levels

This club is accredited with Games Designer Level 1, 2 & 3 Pixel Gang Certificates. To earn a certificate learners must complete tasks and create supporting evidence.

games design classThe children start by learning the basics of games design, including creating characters and objects, and programming movement and interactions.

Each child conceives and builds their own game, putting into practice all they have learnt, and extending their knowledge and skills with the teacher's help through the exploration of algorithms functions and properties.

In so doing, they learn how to analyse a problem by breaking it down into steps, and then use a graphical object orientated programming language to build a sequence of instructions for the computer to follow. The children need to apply some maths, solve logic problems, and think about what instructions the computer will need.


We provide a computer for each student. The school provides computers at after school clubs. However, students can bring their own laptop if they wish. Advice is here.
